  Post-graduate Diploma (FIN5008W)

Applicants should have a degree or diploma in Fine Art, and have attained a level of professional proficiency acceptable to the Michaelis School of Fine Art.

Admission to the course is subject to the submission and acceptance of a portfolio of recent creative work, and is dependent on the availability of appropriate teaching staff and studio space.

  Master of Arts in Fine Art (FIN5003W)

Closing date for application is 30 September of the year before registration. Applicants must submit, with the application, a portfolio of recent work, as well as a clear description of the proposed field of study.

A candidate must have:
  •  a) a Bachelor of Arts in Fine Art with at least an upper second class pass in an approved 400 level Humanities course or an overall upper second class pass in Theory and Practice of Art 3 and 4.
  •  b) a qualification gained at another institution deemed equivalent by Senate.
  •  c) Selection is based on the assessment of the research proposal and the availability of a suitable supervisor.

  Master of Fine Art (FIN5004W)

  Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) (FIN6000W)

Closing date for application is 30 September of the year before registration. The PhD recognises creative work as part of the submission. Applicants are requested to study the rules for the PhD (click here) and must submit a proposal accompanied by a CV and creative portfolio to the Michaelis School of Fine Art.

A candidate must have:
  •  a) a Master's degree
  •  b) a qualification gained at another institution deemed equivalent by Senate.
  •  c) Selection is based on the assessment of the research proposal, track record of the candidate, the availability of a suitable supervisor, the presentation of a seminar and approval by the Universityıs Doctoral Degrees Board.
